Want to take your surf fishing to the next level?

Join Island Beach Naturalists for a 4-hour Intermediate Surf Fishing program.

The first hour will be classroom instruction and cover fishing safety, selection and use of lures and bait, leaders and rigs, how to read the beach, and proper catch and release techniques to reduce fish mortality. The remaining three hours will be spent fishing on the beach.

**Attendees should know how to tie basic fishing knots and how to cast. Lures and rigs will be provided for use while fishing. You are encouraged to bring your own equipment (rod, reel, etc.) but equipment will be available if your rod and reel will not work with the lures to be used in class.

Children must be 10 years or older and anyone 10-18 must be accompanied by an adult. Participants 16 and older should register as a NJ Saltwater Angler. Registration is free and can be completed online at NJDEP | NJ Saltwater Recreation.
