Surf IBSP - Beginner is a 5-day surfing adventure designed for beginner surfers to sharpen their skills and learn the basics of surfing. IBSP Naturalists and avid surfers will take you on a wild ride filled with games, lessons, stewardship and most of all, lots of time in the water surfing!
Important Details
Time • Monday–Friday, July 13–17, 2026 • 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Requirements • Ages 8–16 • Beginner program — no experience required • Must be a strong swimmer and confident in the ocean
Provided • Foam surfboards (participants may bring their own board)
Wear • Swimsuit • Rash guard or sun shirt • Wetsuits encouraged (not provided)
Bring • Towel • Change of clothes • Water • Sunscreen • Lunch and snacks
Meeting Location • Drop-off at the Nature Center • Pick-up at the Pavilion at Swimming Area #2
Weather & Refunds • Program is highly weather dependent • Inclement weather or rough surf may affect the schedule • Refunds only if the park cancels
