IBSP History Hike #2 - US Life Saving Service & Coast Guard

Join our historians for a hiking series that explores the rich cultural & ecological history of IBSP. Each hike will focus on a different topic, and will be located throughout the park.

History Hike #2

Hike the oceanside Coast Guard Trail and observe one of the original Life Saving Stations at IBSP! The park is home to 3 historic Life Saving Stations and participants will hear fascinating stories about the USLSS, USCG, shipwrecks and more. After the program, participants are encouraged to visit the Interpretive Center to see the Shipwreck exhibit.

**IMPORTANT DETAILS**

The hike is a 0.15 mile moderate trail with loose sand. Parking and trailhead are a 1/2 mile south of the park entrance, on the bayside.

Please bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and a snack.

Hikes will run rain or shine. There will be NO REFUNDS unless the Park cancels the event. No exceptions.
