Did you know? Island Beach State Park and the Barnegat Bay have been key players in some of the most important historical events in American history? Did you know that salt marsh ecosystems are more interesting than you ever could have imagined! Did you know that the Barnegat Bay has a vibrant and lively ecosystem, chock full of fascinating species? On our classic kayak eco-tours, our expert Naturalists will take you on a guided interpretative tour around the Sedge Island Marine Conservation Zone, teaching you how to interact with, appreciate, and explore the beautiful nature resources underneath your feet (or kayak) here in the park. You will learn about the history of the park, the ecosystems in the park, and many of our incredible species. We hope to leave you inspired and rejuvenated.
Must be 14 years or older to participate, minors must be accompanied by an adult.
We provide all equipment. Kayaks are open-top tandem 2-person ocean kayaks. You are welcome to bring your own kayak if you prefer, but please give us advanced notice.
No kayaking experience is necessary. We will provide some brief instruction on how to kayak before the program tailored for complete beginners.
Ticket sales will close August 24th at 4:00pm.
Tours will run rain or shine. There will be no reimbursements due to weather unless the park decides to cancel a tour due to thunderstorms.
