Beginner’s Surf Fishing Clinic

If you’ve ever heard the phrase “well that’s why it’s called fishing, not catching” you might assume that surf fishing is all about luck. It’s not! If you’re someone who wants to learn the mystifying art of surf fishing, look no further. Our expert fishermen will teach you all of the tips and tricks of surf fishing, including knot-tying, reading the surf, choosing equipment, casting, reeling, targeting different species, and more! Then you will get to spend a few hours out on the beach putting your new skills into practice. You will meet at the Interpretative Center for the classroom portion of the clinic, before moving onto the beach to practice. Fishing locations will be selected the day of based on conditions. Classes are small, with a lot of individualized attention. Only $10/person for a four hour class, with all equipment and supplies provided!
Must be 10 years old or older to participate. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paid adult.
Before attending the class, if you are not already registered, please register for the NJ Saltwater Fishing Registry. It is FREE to register, and will take you less than 5 minutes. Registration will close at 4:00pm on July 18th.
Walk-ons are accepted; however, it is at the discretion of the guides to determine if it is safe to accept more participants, and may reject walk-ons if deemed unsafe.
We do not give refunds for individual cancellations. We will only give refunds if the park decides to cancel the program due to inclement weather.
